Calculating Payroll Timesheets and Billable Hours

Accurate payroll processing requires turning complex daily check-ins and check-outs into exact billable sums without discrepancies.

Handling Lunch Breaks and Deductions

When calculating net daily work hours:

  • Record Gross Work Duration (e.g. 08h 30m)
  • Use the Minus (−) operator on your calculation row for the unpaid lunch break (e.g. −00h 45m)
  • The result calculates to 07h 45m net working time.

Converting HH:MM to Decimal Pay Rates

To multiply hours by hourly wage: Decimal Hours = Hours + (Minutes / 60)

For example:

  • 07 hours and 45 minutes = 7 + (45 / 60) = 7.75 hours.
  • At $40/hour: 7.75 * 40 = $310.00.
